How It Works

Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel carrier. The gel provides immediate support, and over time the microspheres encourage collagen production for longer-term skin quality improvement.

What to Expect

  • Appointment time: 60-75 minutes
  • Results: immediate with continued improvement over weeks
  • Downtime: minimal; swelling/bruising can occur and may last up to 1-2 weeks
  • Longevity: commonly 12-18 months (varies by area and metabolism)
  • Important: Radiesse is not dissolvable

Consultation and Treatment Planning

We’ll evaluate your anatomy and goals to confirm whether a non-dissolvable biostimulator is appropriate. We prioritize conservative placement, symmetry, and proportion - especially in the lower face and hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions and helpful information about this treatment.

  • Is Radiesse reversible?

No. Radiesse cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. That’s why correct product selection and technique are critical.

  • Is it a filler or a collagen stimulator?

Both. It can provide immediate support and also stimulate collagen for longer-term improvement.

  • Can Radiesse be used for skin quality?

In select cases, yes. Certain dilution techniques may be used to improve skin texture and firmness.

  • How does it compare to Sculptra?

Radiesse offers more immediate support; Sculptra is typically more gradual. Your provider will recommend what fits your goals.
